Tonight’s CMT Music Awards opened with a tribute to the late great Gregg Allman, who passed away in May at age 69. Derek Trucks joined Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, and Charles Kelley (of Lady Antebellum) to perform the 1971 hit “Midnight Rider” … because if you need a slide guitarist worthy of this tribute, who else would you call?
