Derek Trucks

Derek Trucks is widely recognized as one of the most impressive slide guitarists of his generation. Born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1979, he began performing professionally at age 9 and was headlining by 11. His early embrace of slide guitar quickly became a signature of his sound which blends blues, jazz, rock, unconventional instruments (like a chainsaw) and world music influences into a style all his own.

Trucks has had the honor of playing with musical legends like Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy, and John Lee Hooker, and was named to Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and at #16, he is the youngest artist included. After years of relentless touring with The Derek Trucks Band, he now co-leads the Grammy-winning Tedeschi Trucks Band with his wife, singer and guitarist Susan Tedeschi.
