The National Reserve

For nearly half a decade, The National Reserve has spent its Friday nights lighting it up at a Brooklyn bar, winning over boozers and barflies with epic sets and a remarkable breadth of songcraft and showmanship. Their new Ramseur Records album, MOTEL LA GRANGE, captures this raw energy.

Fronted by Sean Walsh, The National Reserve blends gutbucket R&B, Laurel Canyon lyricism, New Orleans funk, late-night soul, and bluesy rock 'n' roll, creating their unique brand of American music.

Walsh, who began in New Brunswick's punk scene, found new inspiration in artists like The Band and Bob Dylan. He moved to Brooklyn to form The National Reserve, meticulously assembling the ideal lineup—Jon LaDeau (guitar), Matthew Stoulil (bass), Steve Okonski (keyboards), and Brian Geltner (drums). They honed their craft through weekly four-hour gigs at Skinny Dennis, comprising R&B covers, classic rock, and Walsh's originals, forging the band into an unstoppable unit.

With their 2017 debut album, MOTEL LA GRANGE, The National Reserve crafted a powerful collection that cements their place among Americana's best. Walsh is now eager to share the band's vibrant live experience with the world, believing in music's transformative power.
